02/22/17 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017.
  • Juniors and Seniors - Tri-C will be joining us on Friday, February 24th during 3rd and 4th periods.  There will be program directors from: the Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies Certificate Program, Hospitality Management, Creative Arts, Court Reporting, IT, Engineering and Exercise Science. If you are interested in attending this event on Friday, please sign up in the Main Office with Ms. Mohat.  You must sign up by Thursday at 2pm.  You can see Mrs. Gonakis in room 290 if you have questions.
Meetings:
  • Attention Key Club Members: The Key Club will not have a meeting this week. We will see you next week. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Kudej in room 223. Thank you.
  • There will be a mandatory softball parent meeting tonight at 6:30 PM in classroom 123 across from the girls gym entrance.
  • Baseball tryouts are tonight and Thursday night from 6:45-8:45 in the boy’s gym.
  • There will be a Girls Outdoor Track Meeting today in the PAD by the cafeteria at 2:30.  If you want to run outdoor track you must be at the meeting.
  • Attention Art Club Students who participated in the Clay Workshop.  We will meet this THURSDAY after school to paint our pieces.  This meeting is only for Art Club Members who participated in the Clay Workshop.  The next Art Club Membership meeting will be announced next week.  Thank you.
  • Attention SAVE environmental club. The hike scheduled for this Thursday is cancelled and will be rescheduled. There will be NO meeting this Thursday 2/23. See Mr. Young or Mrs. Spivey if you have any questions.
  • Attention all 8th graders who have signed up and registered for the Washington D.C. trip.  There will be a mandatory meeting for you and your parents on Thursday, March 2nd starting promptly at 6:00 p.m. in the Little Theater.
  • Attention 8th and 9th graders:  If you received a packet to apply for the National Junior Honor Society, please remember that completed applications (including all recommendations) are due to Ms. Collins in room 321 by this Friday.  No late applications will be accepted!
  • Please come out and support your peers as they "Flash Through Time" by celebrating Black History through music, fashion, facts, and performances on Friday, Feb. 24th, 2017. Doors open at 5:30pm and the show begins at 6pm. No admittance after 6:30pm. Tickets are $5. For more info see Ms. Flowers

02/21/17 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Tuesday, February 21st, 2017. 
  • The results from the latest Ohio Math League contest are in. Congratulations to Connor Hoffman for finishing in first place. Jaime Geiger was second, Luke Johnson was third. Kennedy Johnson was fourth, and Jeremy Morton was fifth. For the year cumulative total Connor Hoffman is first with 246 points. Luke Johnson has 204 points. Peter Powell has 175 points. Serena Hollis has 170 points, and Justin Fike has 166 points. The last Ohio Math League contest of the year is coming up on PI day. Thank you to Miss Burgess for all of your help.
  • Six lady panthers competed Friday at the Spire All-Star meet and they all did an awesome Job. Caisja Chandler continued her dominating ways with a 1st place finish in the 60 Meter Dash 7.78 (9th fastest in state) and 25.34 (7th fastest in the State). Joann Felix High Jump 5 feet and came in 2nd place. Jordan Hughes tied her personal best of 9 feet in the Pole Vault good enough for 5th place. The 4 x 400 Relay of Kristan Ross, Chalara Sutton, Lamyja Jernigan and Caisja Chandler ran a 1st place finish in 1:44.55 (3rd fastest in the state). The same 4 ladies also ran the 4 x 400 Relay in 4:07.5 and came in 2nd place (4th fastest time in the state). The girls have a home track meet today starting at 4pm against John Hay, Laurel and Collinwood.
  • Seventh period study hall is roster-only today.  Only students who are required to attend should report to study hall. 
  • Meetings: 
  • Yearbook and newspaper staff---please remember we have meetings today after IE in room 298.  See you there!
  • Educators Rising has a short meeting after school today to get Easter candy fund raising information and discuss the upcoming competitions.
  • Softball will be starting this evening!  Athletes are to meet in the indoor track at 5:00 PM for practice and tryout information.  There will be a mandatory softball parent meeting on Wednesday the 22nd at 6:30 PM in classroom 123 across from the girls gym entrance.

02/16/17 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Thursday, February 16th, 2017. 
  • IE today is for 4th Period.
  • Congratulations to the Academic Challenge team - Jourdan Richardson, Vinny Clinton and Ronchelle Marshall. They did a great job in a very stressful competition.  You can watch their performance this Saturday night at 7pm on Channel 5.  We should all be very proud of our fellow students who are willing to take on a challenge like this one.  Great job team.
Meetings:
  • Attention Big Show Crew Members: Please make sure that you are turning in your signed crew contracts to Mrs. Ross in the choir room. Crew meetings and announcements will be shared to the email you provided and will also be posted on the choir room door. We have started getting the show ready and want all of you there to help! See Mrs. Ross with any questions.

  • There will be a Girls Outdoor Track Meeting next Wednesday in the little Theatre at 2:30. If you want to run outdoor track you must be at the meeting.
  • Attention Key Club Members:  The meeting for this Thursday February 16th has been cancelled.  The field trip to the Cleveland Food Bank has been postponed.  We will let you know when it gets rescheduled.  Thank you and see you next week.
  • Attention EHS, class of 2018 young ladies.  The American legion auxiliary buckeye girls state program is holding interviews for delegates to buckeye girls state next week.  This program enables young women to experience our government by getting involved in the process.  If you are interested, please stop by the 11th grade office and speak to Ms. Obradovich.
  • All boys interested in playing tennis in the spring should sign up in the athletics office.  8th graders interested in playing co-ed tennis can also sign up in the athletic office.  You must meet the grade requirements and have a current physical on file before the season starts in March.
  • If you plan on participating in a spring sport, please make sure you have turned in your completed physical to the athletics office in the main office hallway!
  • Cleveland Clinic's Civic Education Department offers summer internship experiences that give Northeast Ohio middle and high school students the opportunity to learn and work alongside world-renowned caregivers at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus, Regional Hospitals, and Family Health Centers. If you are in grades 8,9,10,or 11 and you are interested, please see your counselor for more information. Applications must be submitted by Friday, February 24th.

02/10/17 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Friday, February 10th, 2017.
  • Love is in the air!  Student Council will be selling “Crush” grams for $.50 in the cafeteria and E-Room today and Monday during lunch periods. Send one to someone you love!  Crush grams will be delivered on Valentine's Day!
  • The Lady Panthers Ran Yesterday at Spire for an Indoor Track Meet.   The best performance of the day was put in by Jordan Hughes. Jordan Pole Vaulted 9 feet, 1 foot better than her previous best.  She is currently only 6 inches from breaking the school record.  Other nice performances were Kristan Ross 8.08 60 meter dash, Domonique Woods 3:25 800 meter run and Chalara Sutton 67 400 meter dash.  A special shout out goes to Olivia Stovall who stepped up and ran the 4 x 400 at the end of the meet because someone got hurt.

  • Culture Club is sponsoring a speaker today at the Euclid Public Library at 3pm.  The speaker, Thomas Cargill, is the son of an actual Tuskegee Airman and will share a very unique presentation.  All students and adults are welcome!
  • All boys interested in playing tennis in the spring should sign up in the athletics office.  8th graders interested in playing co-ed tennis can also sign up in the athletic office.  You must meet the grade requirements and have a current physical on file before the season starts in March.
  • If you plan on participating in a spring sport, please make sure you have turned in your completed physical to the athletics office in the main office hallway!

02/08/17 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Wednesday, February 8th, 2017
  • Congratulations to team Jaguar who has read 462 books this school year!  Our goal is for each student to read 40 books by the end of this school year.  The top six readers on team Jaguar are Christina Saterides who has read 21 books, Marcellus Ingram who has read 20 books, Janiya Harris who has read 12 books, Arshawn Palmer and Jessie Demore who have each read 11 books.  If you see these students in the halls today, tell them great job!  Keep it up Jaguar; Ms. Henry is very proud of you!
  • Today is the last day for the Euclid High School Key Club Valentine flowers and candy sale in the E-room during 4th, 5th, & 6th periods!  Flowers are $1 and candy is $1.
Meetings:
  • Pitcher and catcher tryouts for the baseball team are today and Friday in the Boys gym at 3:45.

02/07/17 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Tuesday, February 7th, 2017!
  • Attention All Students!  The Euclid High School Key Club will be selling Valentine's flowers and candy in the E-room during 4th, 5th, & 6th periods, starting today!  We are only selling for 3 days, so make sure you make it down there so you can give your sweetheart and friends a Valentine on February 14th!  Flowers are $1 and candy is $1.
Meetings:
  • Baseball practice this week will be today at 3:45 in the weight room.  Wednesday and Friday are the first days of pitcher and catcher tryouts in the Boys gym at 3:45.
  • The next meeting for the current members of the National Honor Society is today at 2:30 in room 342. Applications to join the National Honor Society are Due Feb 16.  See Mr. Zucca if you have any questions.
  • Attention all Big Show crew.  Our crew meeting will be held today at 2:30pm in the choir room.  This meeting is mandatory everyone interested in working crew for big show.  Please see Mrs. Ross or Mr. McGill with any questions .
