01/27/17 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Friday, January 27th, 2017
Meetings this week:
  • Attention all students interested in Big Show Crew.  There will a mandatory crew meeting on Monday, January 30th from 2:30-3:00pm in the choir room.  We will be discussing what is needed for the musical and how you would like to help.  Please make your plans to attend!!!  See Mrs. Ross in the choir room with any questions.
  • There will be an Art Club meeting for all members on Tuesday, January 31st after school in room 199.
  • Attention Student Council members!  Our next meeting will be Wednesday, February 8.  If you are interesting in helping out with our Valentine's Day fundraiser, please see Mrs. Latessa in Room 296 or Mrs. Pollack in Room 263 to sign up during your lunch.
  • Educators Rising is hosting a basketball tournament after school on Friday, Febuary 3rd.  Get your team of 4 players together for this half court competition. Cost is $20 per team and all teams are guaranteed 2 games.  See Mrs. Rudder after school in room 231 to sign your team up!  There will also be a 3-point contest, cost to participate is $1.  The last day to enter a team is Wed. Feb. 1st.

01/26/17 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Thursday, January 26th, 2017!
  • The Lady Panthers Track Team ran yesterday in their Buckeye League Meet at Spire. Many great performances were put in on the track and in the field events. Jordan Hughes Pole Vaulted 8 feet 2nd place, Joann Felix High Jump 5 feet 1 inch for 1st place and 8th in state right now, Caisja Chandler ran 25.24 in the 200 1st place and currently 3rd fastest time in the state right now. Both our 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 Relays of Kristan Ross, Rahshayla Perry, Chalara Sutton, Lamyja Jernigan And Caisja Chandler came in 1st place and are both currently in the top 5 in the state. Other personal best performances were put in by Olivia Stovall, Ariane Shackelford, Courtney Rice, Adaya Lemon and Mikayla Boddie.

  • Attention SAVE Environmental Club. We will meet today after school in room 391.  If you have any questions or cannot make it please see Mr. Young or Mrs. Spivey.
  • Attention Key Club Members: We will be having our key club meeting today at 2:45 in room 223. We will be discussing when we will be going to the Cleveland Food Bank and about our upcoming Valentine's Day fundraiser.

  • Attention Teens : Do you want to volunteer in the community?  Hospice of the western Reserve is training Teen volunteers to visit patients, help with nursing assistants, or work in clerical and/or data entry.  Information is posted on the main information board or see Ms. Russo on the first floor.
Meetings this week:
  • Baseball will have morning practice Friday Jan. 27th.
  • Culture Club will meet in the Euclid High School media center today at 2:30 pm.  Come plan the activities for Spring and find out what the club has going on at the public library!

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Tuesday, January 24th, 2017!
  • The results for the January Ohio Math League contest are in. Congratulations to Connor Hoffman for finishing in first place. Justin Fike was second. Jeremy Morton was third. Kennedy Johnson and Abbie Dickerson tied for fourth. For the year Connor Hoffman is in first with 191 points. Luke Johnson is in second with 157 points. Peter Powell is in third with 140 points. Serena Hollis is in fourth with 133 points.
Meetings this week:
  • Attention Survey newspaper staff. There is a mandatory meeting today at 3:15pm in room 298. We will be putting the finishing touches on our next edition. See you there!
  • Attention yearbook staff! We have a meeting today, Tuesday, after school in room 298. See you there!
  • Educators Rising has an important meeting today in room 231.  We will sign up for the conference and finalize the basketball tournament.

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Thursday, January 19th, 2017!
  • Coach Ingram would like to congratulate 8th grader Audrey Zorman for setting a personal record last night in the 400 freestyle by swimming 16 lengths of the pool in 5 minutes and 20 seconds.  Audrey took first place in both her individual events scoring a total of 14 points for the team and was the top scorer for the girls.  Shawn Mason and Na'Im Hobson took top points for the boys with 9 points apiece.  Christina Saterides and Katie Stephens each scored 8.5 points.  The team would also like to thank Dr. Smilak and Mrs. Hardaway for coming out last night to show their support as we faced the Westlake Waves.

  • Senior orders for Graduation announcements and accessory items will be taken at school on Thursday, January 19th during lunch periods in the E-Room.  Payment in full or a $60 deposit is required with your announcement order.  Sophomore, Junior, and Senior class ring orders will be taken and a ring service call will be made on Thursday, January 19th during lunch periods in the E-Room.
Meetings This Week: 
  • Attention Survey Newspaper staff.  We have a mandatory meeting today at 3:15 in room 298. Please be prompt and bring any additional story ideas for our new issue.  If you would like to join the newspaper staff, come to the meeting Tuesday.  You can still be in our next issue.

  • Attention Sophomore Students: The Lake Shore Compact would like to remind students who have applied to a Career Technical Education Program that the interviews will be held January 18-20, during the school day.  Please be sure to stop by the Career Tech office, Rm. 232 to pick-up your hall pass.  If you have not applied for one of our 23 programs and would like to do so, please visit www.LakeShoreCompact.org.
  • Attention seniors, today is the last day to sign up for the February ACT.  Visit the College Now office in Room 147 to see if you qualify for a fee waiver and for help with registration.
  • If there are any 8th graders that are new to EHS, and are interested in the Washington D.C. trip.  Please see Mrs. Biehl in room 127 today for an informational packet.

  • Euclid High School’s Concert Band will host the annual Dr. Martin Luther King District Celebration Concert tonight at 7:00pm in the Euclid High School Auditorium.  The concert will open with a performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and end with Dr. King’s famous speech “I Have A Dream” as the band plays “The Civil War.”  Admission to the Concert is FREE!
  • If there are any 8th graders that are new to EHS, and are interested in the Washington D.C. trip.  Please see Mrs. Biehl in room 127 by this Friday for an informational packet.

  • The auditions for the 12th Annual "Flash in Time" Black History Program are today at 3p.m. in the Little Theater.  Please come prepared with a 1-minute routine/audition piece.  Any questions, please see Ms. Flowers.  This is the only audition held for the show that will be on Friday, Feb. 24th.
  • If there are any 8th graders that are new to EHS, and are interested in the Washington D.C. trip.  Please see Mrs. Biehl in room 127 by this Friday for an informational packet.

  • Do you have a talent for singing, poetry, dancing, modeling, or fashion?  We will be holding auditions for the 12th Annual "Flash in Time" Black History Program tomorrow at 3p.m. in the Little Theater.  Please come prepared with a 1-minute routine/audition piece.  Sign-up sheet will be located outside of Ms. Russo/Ms. Flower’s office on the first floor near the 8th grade unit office.  Any questions, please see Ms. Flowers.  This will be the only audition held for the show that will be on Friday, Feb. 24th.

  • A reminder to all baseball players that there will be lifting at 3:45 today with practice after.
  • National Honor Society will meet Today in room 342.  See Mr. Zucca if you have any questions.

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Monday, January 9th, 2017!
  • The library will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Students in study hall and student aides should report to the library as usual.  Sorry for the inconvenience.
  • The new library lunch procedure starts today.  There is a five minute period of time during each lunch period for you to get to the library or to lunch.  Fourth period is 10:45-10:50, fifth is 11:40-11:45, and sixth is 12:35-12:40.  If you arrive early or late or are in the hall outside of those times, you will receive a tardy slip.  Please see Mr. Corfman or Ms. Mack if you have any questions.

  • Even though the 8th grade swim team lost to Mentor yesterday, Coach Ingram was proud of each of the swimmer's effort, dedication and contribution.  Our top scorers were Audrey Zorman 9 points, Christina Saterides 5 points, Antwon Eason 7.5 points and Jerome Nash and Christopher Hill each with 4.5 points.  Way to go swimmers.
  • It's time to renew your library pass for 2017 if you haven't done it already. Please remember that you must have both your school ID and an up-to-date library pass to get to the library during lunch.  Come see Mr. Corfman or Ms. Mack to get your pass updated.
  • Attention Students!  Do you have a talent for singing, poetry, dancing, modeling, or fashion?  We will be holding auditions for the 12th Annual "Flash in Time" Black History Program next Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 at 3p.m. in the Little Theater. Please come prepared with a 1-minute routine/audition piece.  Sign-up sheet will be located outside of Ms. Russo/Ms. Flower’s office on the first floor near the 8th grade unit office.  This show is a decades show where students will perform pieces such as the Temptations, New Edition, TLC, Michael Jackson, Langston Hughes, etc.  Any questions, please see Ms. Flowers. Don't forget to sign up.  This will be the only audition held for the show that will be on Friday, Feb. 24th.

  • The result for the latest edition of the Ohio Math League Contest are in. Congratulations to Serena Hollis for earning the top score. Peter Powell was second, and Luke Johnson finished third. Jeremy Morton was again the highest placing 10 grader. For the year Connor Hoffman remains in first place with Luke Johnson second, Peter Powell third, Serena Hollis fourth, and Hope Mocadlo fifth. This was the highest scoring contest of the year.
