11/30/17 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Have Integrity.  Today is Thursday, November 30th
  • The library is closed today through 6th period.
  • Students who are taking End of Course tests next week, your homeroom teacher will be passing out a slip to you to remind you what days you are testing and where to report. Testing begins on Monday, December 4th and runs through Tuesday, December 12th from 7:30AM-11:00AM. Please make sure you are on time to school each day. The EROOM will be closed for lunch 4th period on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week. 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who have lunch in the EROOM during 4th period, should report to the girls gym at 10:28AM on those 3 days. Any student who miss 4th period lunch due to testing, will eat 6th period in the cafeteria. Please see your counselor or Assistant Principal, Mrs. Urban, if you have any questions.

  • Ladies, do not forget that Indoor Track starts next Monday, December 4th at 2:30 in the Indoor Track. You must have your final forms filled out and your physical turned into the Athletic Office in order to practice.
  • Attention all students who are interested in bowling this winter for the athletics department. There will be an informational meeting with the coach on Monday, December 4th in the little theater at 2:30 PM.
  • Attention all football players! If you are interested in playing football, next year, for the 2018-2019 football season, you are invited to attend a meeting, in the Little Theatre, at 2:30 PM, on Monday, December 4, 2017. All current and new players are encouraged to attend!
  • The Lake Shore Compact would like to invite sophomore students and their families to our Career Technical Education Expo at Euclid High School on December 5th from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the E-Room. This Expo is designed to provide all 10th grade students and their families more information about the 22 programs that we offer. Both instructors and current career tech students will be here to discuss their program and answer any questions that you may have. The primary objective for each program is to prepare students to enter a four or two year college, a technical school or the career of their choosing.   • Attention 8th graders! Come and have some fun here at the High School on a night dedicated specifically to you! Teen Night will be December 8th from 5:30pm-8:00pm with a $5 admission charge. You must have your student ID present to enter the event. Concessions will be available for purchase.
  • Central Middle School Choirs along with our high school 8th grade Euclid Elite Show Choir, Concert Band, and Orchestra will present a special Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 14 at 7pm in the EHS Auditorium.

  • Coach Ingram would like to congratulate 8th grade swimmers Jaiden Flowers for scoring 13 points and Cameron Holton for scoring 9 points to bring the boys to a victory over Bedford Heskett Middle school. Jaiden took a first place in the 50 Breast stroke. Aria Ray was the top scoring 8th grade girl, earning 6 points for the team. Congratulations team.

If you did not participate in College Application Day, but have a letter of acceptance from a college or university, you can also get a shirt. Just bring in your acceptance letter to room 324.
  • The Senior Class meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 29 has been canceled. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, December 6.

  • Do you have to retake the AIR Biology test next Thursday? Are you serious about passing it, and want a little extra help to succeed? Well, if so . . . Ms. Collins would like to help. She is offering a 3-day workshop after school from 2:20 until 3pm tomorrow and Thursday this week and next Wednesday. If interested, you must commit to attending at least 2 of the 3 days. Last year, 88% of her students passed this very difficult test, so if you can make the time, it will definitely be worth your while! Space is limited so stop by her room today to sign up! Room 321.
  • Attention all students interested in the cast, crew, or pit for Big Show 2018: There will be a mandatory informational meeting about the show today from 2:15-2:45pm in the choir room.   Make plans to attend.  Please see Mrs. Ross with any questions.

  • Thanks to all staff and students who came out to support the Lady Panthers in their season opener Friday Night. The Lady Panthers defeated VASJ 50-32 in a great team effort.  The Lady Panthers hope to see you Wednesday night when they will host Mentor.
  • Anyone who wants to play baseball this year must be at our team meeting today in Room 119 from 6-8 pm.  You are getting fitted for new uniforms and everyone will need to try on jerseys and pants.

  • The library will be closed during 6th period lunch today.
  • The results for the Ohio Math League are in.  Congratulations to Jaime Geiger for finishing in first place.  Alex Bowman was a very close second place.  Luke Johnson came in third place and became the career leader with over 500 points.  Peter Powell was 4th.  Roummell Harris was 5th and was the highest placing 10th grader.  The next contest is December 12.
  • Attention Seniors!  Order forms for Senior shirts are now available in Senior English classes!  Get in on this great tradition!  Turn your order form and money in to Mrs. Latessa in Room 296 no later than Friday, December 15.
  • Anyone who wants to play baseball this year must be at our team meeting Monday, November 27th in Room 119 6-8 pm. We are getting fitted for our new uniforms and everyone will need to try on jerseys and pants.
  • It is time to pre-order your 2018 yearbook!  In order to make sure you get one of the limited copies, bring your payment and order form to room 298.  Discounted price until Winter Break!

  • The library will be closed all day today and during 6th period lunch tomorrow.  In addition, the media center copiers have been turned off so please send your print jobs to another location.
  • The Pad Passes, formerly known as Golden IDs, were distributed on Monday, November 13th. If you didn't receive one, AND meet the following criteria, a 3.75 or higher GPA, no F’s, 90% attendance, and 0-1 referral (tardy only), then please see Linda Blanch in room 394A this week. You MUST have your ID to receive the pass. Also, only seniors with Pad Passes AND completed permission slips are allowed the open-campus lunch privilege.
  • The African-American Achievement Girls' Group would like to thank everyone that donated to the Turkey Day Food Drive.  Through the generous donations from the students and staff at EHS, we will be able to help 19 Euclid City School families have a Happy Thanksgiving this holiday season.  The boxes are stuffed beyond capacity and each comes with a nice sized turkey!  We'd like to send a special thanks to the teachers that didn't have a homeroom, but cared enough to donate.  Kudos to the teachers and admin staff that made monetary donations; you made purchase of the turkeys to cap off the meals a lot easier.  Everyone's efforts were truly appreciated.  We'd like to especially recognize Mrs. Langford's 2nd period class.  As the winning homeroom, Mrs. Langford and her students donating over 119 items from the list.  Your Chick-Fil-A breakfasts will be delivered tomorrow during homeroom.  Congratulations and thanks again to all that donated.

  • Today’s class SHOUT Outs! are from Mrs. McCloud to her 4th period class A guest teacher reported that my 4th period class worked diligently and was well behaved.  She appreciates you showing respect, having integrity, and being responsible in her absence.  Great job 4th period.  Also from Mrs. Archer-Bailey to all the students in the Career Exploration classes who exemplified tremendous empathetic behavior during Mrs. Mohat's presentation on the importance of standing up against inappropriate bullying behavior.  And from Mrs. Norton to Mr. Brady's first period class for being flexible, responsible and kind.  They were MAGNIFICENT when moving from his room for repairs.
  • Attention 9th and 10th Grade Students: If you did not receive your certificate for merit, honor, or distinguished honor roll, please stop into the 9th/10th grade office, room 290, to pick it up. Congratulations to all recipients for your hard work!

  • The Mulicultural fair has been rescheduled and will not be at the Euclid Library today at 3pm.
  • Attention 9th and 10th Grade Students: If you did not receive your certificate for merit, honor, or distinguished honor roll, please stop into the 9th/10th grade office, room 290, to pick it up. Congratulations to all recipients for your hard work!
  • Seniors - If you have submitted a Transcript Request Form for College Application Day, please remember to pick up your prepared transcripts in room 230, today, anytime between 1:20 and 2:15. If you cannot make it today, transcripts will be available again, first thing tomorrow morning. Remember - you must have transcripts with you in 2nd period in order to be dismissed to participate in College Application Day on Thursday.
  • This is the last week for the Turkey Day Food Drive.  We're asking all teachers and members of the African-American Achievement Girls' Group to spend a few moments of homeroom reviewing the initiative and desired items.  Final collections will be made Friday, November 17th between 4th and 6th period.  The winning homeroom will be announced on Monday, November 20th and receive the prize breakfast on Tuesday, November 21st.  Its time for everyone to rev up our giving and make this a Happy Thanksgiving for as many Euclid Families as possible.
  • The Senior Class Cabinet will be meeting today at 2:20 p.m. in Room 296.  We will be discussing prom and after prom.
  • The next Ohio Math League contest will be today at 2:20 in room 342.  If you like math and enjoy a challenge this activity is for you.  All students are welcome to participate.  See Mr. Zucca if you have any questions.

  • Today’s class SHOUT Outs! are from Ms. Dixon to her 3rd period Trigonometry class for showing respectfulness, responsibility, and integrity while they worked in their cooperative groups.  From Ms. Ivanc to her 4th period class for getting quiet and right to work in class and being considerate and helpful each day!  And from Mrs. Biehl to her 2nd period class for doing a great job while dealing with technological problems and going with the flow of a change in lesson plans.

  • This is the last week for the Turkey Day Food Drive.  We're asking all teachers and members of the African-American Achievement Girls' Group to spend a few moments of homeroom reviewing the initiative and desired items.  Final collections will be made Friday, November 17th between 4th and 6th period.  The winning homeroom will be announced on Monday, November 20th and receive the prize breakfast on Tuesday, November 21st.  Its time for everyone to rev up our giving and make this a Happy Thanksgiving for as many Euclid Families as possible.

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Have Integrity.  Today is Monday, November 13th.
  • Today’s class SHOUT Out! is from Ms. Schutte to Mr. Brady's first period class for being respectful, responsible, and showing integrity, as they worked cooperatively to intercept slope and y-intercept, using data and real-world examples.  They are the champions of the game 24!

  • Mrs. Davis and Dr. Mines would like to thank the ladies of the African-American Achievement Girls' Group who attended the Wings of Women (WOW) Conference hosted by the International Women's Air and Space Museum at Burke Lakefront Airport this past Saturday.   The conference was geared towards high school female students interested in pursuing STEM career fields.  Professional women mentors from various STEM fields spoke with the ladies about their journeys and there were hands-on activities that helped spark further interest.  This was a great opportunity for the young ladies to be inspired and empowered to pursue whatever their hearts desire.
  • Attention 8th grade middle school wrestlers. Your bus will be at the athletics entrance by the baseball field.  The bus will be there at 2:45 to take the 8th grade wrestlers to Euclid Central Middle School for practice.  Do not be late!

  • Today’s class SHOUT Out! is from Ms. Schutte to Mr. Guzik’s 7th period class.  Mr. Guzik's seventh period Biology class deserves a "cell"abratory shout out, as they were respectful, responsible, and showed integrity, as they successfully used Haiku to discover how cells come from pre-existing cells and what happens when the cell cycle goes unchecked.
  • Come support our Euclid panther football team at Bedford High School against St. Ignatius this Friday at 7:30pm. Pre sale tickets will be available in the athletics office for $8 during lunch periods and after school until 3pm.
  • Attention 8th graders, if you are still interested in joining swim team there is still time.  Stop by the pool between 3 -4:30pm to get information from Coach Ingram.

  • Mrs. Davis & Dr. Mines would like to thank the students who traveled to Central State University this past Saturday for the school’s College Preview Day.  Even though it was a long day and an even longer ride, the students represented themselves and Euclid High School well.  Here’s to planning your futures and exploring your options.  Great job guys!
  • The Survey is here!  See your English teacher for the most recent edition of EHS' newspaper.  Additional copies will be available in the Media Center.  If you are interested in contributing to the newspaper in the future, come to our meetings Thursdays after school in room 298.  Enjoy!

  • Today is your last chance to save some money and get presale tickets for the playoff football game tonight! Come to the athletics office until 3:00 PM to grab your ticket to the game!  They are each $8.00.  No passes of any kind are accepted at the gate, all students and staff should purchase their tickets today in the athletics office.

  • There will be a Girls High School Indoor Track Meeting today at 2:30 in the Cafeteria Pad.  Any questions see Coach Nosse in the Boys Gym.
  • There will be a Boys High School Indoor Track Meeting today Thursday, Nov 2nd at 2:30 in room 323.  If you are not there by 2:35. please do not bother to attend future practices.
  • There will be an informational meeting for 9th -12th Graders interested in Wrestling this year today in room 107, right after school.
