10/31/18 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Have Integrity.  Today is Wednesday, October 31st.
  • Attention, students who earned merit roll the first quarter: please stop into your grade level office to pick up your bronze lanyard pin. All you need is your ID!
  • Teachers, please make sure that you have distributed all achievement certificates to students by the end of the day today. You may return any remaining certificates for absent students to the grade level offices today as well.
  • Attention all Panther fans! Tickets for this week’s home playoff football game will be available today through Friday at 2:30 pm in the athletics office! All pre-sale tickets are $8.00. Tickets at the gate will be $9.00. Please keep in mind that since this is a playoff game, no passes of any kind will be accepted.
  • The LEAD Scholars would like to remind everyone of the Turkey Day Food Drive happening now through November 16th. Be sure to ask your homeroom teachers about the items being requested. This is a competition and the winning homeroom will receive a Chick-Fil-A breakfast. Teachers, if you need a collection box, please email Dr. Mines or Mrs. Davis. For any additional information, please see Mrs. Davis (317) and Dr. Mines (371).
  • There will be a Girls Track Meeting today at 2:20 in the Little Theatre.  If you are running Indoor Track you must be there.
  • Tomorrow is picture retake day.  This will be your last opportunity to take school pictures.  Retakes will take place on the Auditorium stage.
  • Attention Publishing staff, there will be NO meeting Thursday because of conferences.  Bring story and theme ideas next week!
  • Attention 8th graders who signed up for swim team: The first practice will be this Thursday at 3:00.  Come to practice prepared to swim laps. There will be an informational meeting at 2:15 in the Little Theatre on both Thursday and Friday. Turn your physical in at the meeting.
  • Any student interested in attending the Central State University Trip THIS SATURDAY, be sure to return you permission slips ASAP. If you didn't get one but are interested, stop by room 371 and see Dr. Mines. You need to be registered for the event so the sooner you return your slip, the better.
  • Attention any student interested in auditioning for the Pantherettes, the dance and flag twirling unit of the marching band, there will be a training clinic on Saturday Nov. 3 from 9-1pm in the auditorium.  Please sign up in the band room if you are interested in attending.
  • The band and orchestra will be hosting a Skating Party on Sunday, November 4 from 3-6pm at United Skates of America in Wicliffe.  Cost is $8 and includes skates or $4 if you have your own skates!  Join us for a fun filled afternoon of skating this Sunday.
  • Attention 8th graders interested in wrestling: Practice starts on November 12.  Bus 34 will be at the High School athletic doors by Stanic Baseball Field to pick up wrestlers to take to Central Middle School every day starting on November 12 at 2:30pm.  The bus will depart every day at 2:40 promptly.

  • Congratulations to the top Membean performers on team Jaguar: Precious Westbrook, Mickaila Beufort, Nyaja Thomas, Daemari Robinson, and Neveah Jones. Keep up the great work and continue to have a growth mindset!

  • Congratulations to Team Leopard for reading over 500 books first quarter.  The top readers on our team are Kaitlin Bogner, Qui-Nae Walker, and Antonio Grover with 21 books; Grace French with 26 books, Madison Hampton with 28 books; Haden Hewis with 35 books; and A'Niyah Cephus with 50 books!  Keep up the good work.

10/25/18 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Have Integrity.  Today is Thursday, October 25th.
  • The results for the first contest of the Ohio Math League are in. Congratulations to Jeremy Morton and Roummell Harris who tied for first place. Nate Ahragbedey was third. Evan Botzki was fourth. Ashawn Berry and Tosh Phoenix tied for fifth. Isabel Baca was the highest scoring 10th graders. Jeremey Morton passed up Alex Bowman, and is now in 8th place on the Career list. Ashaw Berry scored his 100th career point. The next contest will be Nov 20. See Mr. Zucca if you have any questions.
  • Congratulations to the top readers on team Jaguar in the 40 Book Challenge: Michaila Beufort read 40 books, Jalen Fisher read 10 books, Daija Mitchell read 10 books, York Eberhardt read 8 books, and Angel Randle read 8 books. Together team Jaguar has read over 400 books with an average of 4 books per student. Continue to read for 30 minutes at home each night Jaguars and work hard towards your goal of 40 books! Keep up the great work!
  • Euclid Yogis!  This Friday let's meet for yoga!  Bring your mat, bring your mind, bring your joy!  Be there on  Friday!

  • The band and orchestra are sponsoring a fundraiser at Fun and Stuff in Macedonia on Friday, October 26 from 6pm-10pm.  Tickets can be purchased in the band room and if you need transportation, a bus will be provided that leaves at 5:30pm.  The cost is $20 and includes laser tag, go-carts, golf, roller skating, bumper boats, and much more.
  • All students who paid a deposit for the HBCU College Fair, please stop by 371 to pick up your deposit. Permission slips are due today for juniors and seniors interested in the free trip planned for Saturday, Nov. 3 to Central State University's College Preview Day.  This is an ALL DAY trip so plan accordingly.
  • Congratulations to the orchestra for an outstanding performance at last nights Pasta Dinner and to the marching band for a great Concert! You make Euclid proud! A reminder to all band members to pick up your audition music for concert band chair placement in the band room!

  • There will be a short meeting after school today for the student PBIS team.  Please report to Room 295 at 2:20.
  • Attention Students: There will be a Multicultural Fair today at the Euclid Public Library.  Come at 2:30 pm until 4pm. There will be raffles, guest appearance by Big 40 and an authentic African drummer.  Come enjoy the various cultural vendors!
  • Any student interested in joining the wrestling team should report to the wrestling room for conditioning practice we will meet this week after school Monday-Friday from 3pm-5pm.
  • Girls Basketball Try-outs will be this Friday at 2:30 in west gym.  You must register and have a completed physical to try-out.  If you need help with registration come to open gym this Wednesday at 6pm in west gym and we can help you register.
  • "Interested in the Swim Team? Join Coach Steve for a short informational meeting this coming Wednesday, October 24th right after school in the competition pool.  This is the last meeting for the swim team before the season starts this Friday. After the meeting the team will play a game of water polo, so bring your swimsuit and a towel!  Find out more about the swim team this Wednesday, October 24th at 2:30 in the competition pool."

  • Cheerleading Tryouts start today and run through Friday from 4:30pm-6:00pm at the Indoor Track.  Please bring a current physical, current grade report, and practice attire.
  • Any student interested in joining the wrestling team should report to the wrestling room for conditioning practice we will meet after school Monday-Friday from 3pm-5pm.
  • Attention Student Council members-there will be no meeting this week due to our Blood Drive.   • Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Have Integrity.  Today is Friday, October 19th.  
  • Today’s Class SHOUT! Out is from Ms. Tizzano to the Marching Band for an outstanding performance at Central State University homecoming on Saturday, October 13.  You represented our school and community well and she is proud of you!
  • Presale tickets for the Mentor football game are available in the athletics office today.  Student tickets are $4.00 and adult tickets are $6.00.  Come support the Panthers as they fight for a conference and regional title.  Senior day celebrations will begin at 6:30 PM, so be sure to arrive early!
  • The band will march through the hallways today during 7th period starting at 1:55pm!  Please line the hallways and enjoy this spirit event for tonight's Mentor vs. Euclid football game!  This is our final home game of the season and senior night!
  • This is a Field Trip Reminder. All students that are joining the Environmental Science adventure hike:  Please meet at the Old E-Room doors at 9:30.  Remember, the illusions you see on screens are easily replaced by the beautiful reality of the Natural World.
  • Seniors! Attention! The ballots for the yearbook superlatives are due to room 298 by 2:15pm today.

  • Today’s Class SHOUT! Outs are from Ms. Henry to her 1st period class for always arriving ready to learn. Your hard work and growth mindset during first period starts each morning in a positive way!  And from Mr. Mita to his 1st period class for showing responsibility by attending class.  Attendance is critical for Success. Carry on.
  • Presale tickets for the Mentor football game are available in the athletics office on Thursday and Friday.  Student tickets are $4.00 and adult tickets are $6.00.  Come support the Panthers as they fight for a conference and regional title.  Senior day celebrations will begin at 6:30 PM, so be sure to arrive early!

  • The next Educators Rising meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 23 at 2:30 in room 129A. Please plan to stay until 3:30.
  • The band and orchestra will host the 7th annual pasta dinner on Wednesday, October 24, before the indoor marching band concert from 4:00-7:00pm in the Euclid High School cafeteria.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and includes the concert.  The marching band will present their indoor marching band concert in the east gym at 7pm following the pasta dinner!  Admission is $3 if you come to the concert only.  The band and orchestra are sponsoring a fund raiser at fun and stuff in Macedonia on Friday, October 26 from 6-10pm.  Purchase a ticket in the band room.  If you need transportation, a bus will be provided leaving at 5:30pm.  Cost is $20 and includes laser tag, go-carts, golf, roller skating, bumper boats, and much more.

Scholars are hosting a Turkey Day Food Drive; we were able to help 22 Euclid families have a great Thanksgiving last year... this year we're aiming for 30!  Beginning Wednesday, October 17, 2018, students and teachers are asked to bring items into their homeroom classes.  Homeroom teachers you will receive a list in your mailboxes.  Please take some time to review the items with your students.  Desired items include: canned green beans, canned corn, canned yams, canned cranberry sauce, creamed soups (mushroom, chicken, or celery), boxed stuffing mix. instant potatoes (boxes or packages), macaroni & cheese, gravy mix (jar or packaged), turkey or chicken, cake mix, and icing.  PLEASE STICK TO THE REQUESTED ITEMS.  While participation was great last year, there were a lot of items that could not be shared with families in the community.  Remember, this is a competition and the homeroom with the most donations will be awarded a Chick-fil-a breakfast.  If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Davis (317) or Dr. Mines (371).  Let’s see how many boxes we can donate from EHS and the L.E.A.D. Scholars!

  • Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Have Integrity.  Today is Thursday, October 11th.
  • Today’s Class SHOUT Outs! are from Mrs. Simmons to team leopard, both students and teachers, for an amazing movie field trip on Wednesday.  Students were well behaved, had fun, and were polite throughout the entire day. Thank you!  And from Mrs. Jones to every teacher/staff member who proctored a test, covered a class, conducted hallway duty, relocated their class or did something different out of their ordinary day to make sure PSAT testing was successful at EHS.  You all did a wonderful job.  Also, I want to send a shout to every student who had to take a different route to class/lunch, attend class in a different room, or was mindful about their surroundings during class change yesterday.  I really appreciate you going the extra mile to make sure your fellow classmates could do their absolute best on the PSAT.
  • Junior and Senior Ambassadors will meet today in Room 169 at 2:30 pm.

  • Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Have Integrity.  Today is Tuesday, October 9h.
  • Students who have Career-Tech programs located AT Mentor High School will not have their Career Tech program classes on October 10th due to PSAT testing at Mentor High School. Euclid students should report to EHS at the time of their first scheduled class at EHS, not before.
  • Attention all 10th graders and registered 11th graders qualifying for the National Merit Scholarship. Just a reminder, that the PSAT is this Wednesday, October 10th, 1st-4th periods. Make sure to get your testing room location from your homeroom teacher prior to Wednesday. Testing starts promptly at 7:30am. Please arrive to school on time and have your photo ID. Additionally, students that will miss 4th period lunch due to testing, will report to the cafeteria for 5A lunch then the auditorium the second half. After lunch you will report to your 6th period class. Attention teachers: The bell system will be inactive during testing. Please make sure to utilize you cell phones or watches for class exchange.

  • Today is National Do Something Nice Day.  Each year on October 5th, people across the nation observe National Do Something Nice Day by performing acts of kindness for strangers and loved ones.  It’s easy to become so caught up in our own stresses and struggles that we forget to show kindness to others. This day is a great reminder that doing good deeds makes the world better.
  • Attention Juniors and Seniors!  The Lake County Fall College Fair is being held this Sunday, October 7, from noon until 1:30 PM in the main gym at Lakeland Community College.  This event is free and open to the public.  For more details please go to www.lakelandcc.edu/collegefair. 
  • Juniors and Seniors - If you signed up for the University of Akron visit, it will take place in the Little Theater. The visit will begin at 11:25. If you have questions, stop by room 324 to see Mrs. Gonakis.

  • The training clinic for all students interested in trying out for next seasons Pantherette Dance and Flag team will be on Saturday, November 3rd from 9am-1pm in the auditorium.  If you are interested in trying out, please sign up in the band.
  • It's time to pre-order your yearbook! Copies of the 2019 yearbook are only 35 dollars before December 20th. You can reserve your copy online now. The price will go up after Winter Break!   • The Orchestra and Band will be selling Florida Citrus now through October 31st!  You may purchase oranges, grapefruit, apples, and an assortment of Holiday chocolates and nuts!  Find a band or orchestra member or stop by the band room to order your citrus!

  • Today’s class SHOUT! Out is from Mr. Baca to his 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th period classes for their excellent behavior during the vision and hearing screenings. Many of the adults doing the screenings were impressed!
  • Congratulations to Team Jaguar's top Membean students: Tori Tillman, Anjolie Waltonin, Dalon Clark, Jalen Fisher, Desirai Graves, Dariya Rogers, Kassidy Anderson, Quinten Bradford, Precious Westbrook, Brishaw Williams, Malikah Abdul-Wali, Alex Clark, Nazyia Mitchell, and Jameel Pruitt.
