Morning Announcements - May 1, 2023

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Monday, May 1, 2023 and these are your morning announcements.

THE R-FACTOR - Oftentimes people talk to me about the “old Euclid” and how things “used to be.” Even I look back on my time as a student at Euclid High School with great fondness, and is a key reason why I came back to my alma mater. Think about all that we have done this year to lay the foundation to explode with growth for our future. This year we:
Brought back Pep Rallies
Staff versus Student Competitions
Homecoming was a banger
Excellent Black History Month Assembly
Big Show was extraordinary
The Music Department has put on several concerts
We have brought elementary students back to campus
We have taken our students to the elementary schools
Parents, teachers, and students have danced with each other at family engagement nights
We have displayed our artwork for the community to see
We have won multiple band competitions
Our CTE Programs have earned state and national recognition
We have visited the Senior Center
For the first time in years we had a Prom off site in a beautiful location. I can go on and on, but we’re almost out of time.
Right now each of us is contributing to the great tradition of Euclid High School. you are adding value to our culture. Culture is what makes Euclid High School a special place to work and learn. We are committed to continuously growing through the shared experience of being a Panther. Culture is not built by what you proclaim. It’s built by what you practice, promote, and permit. We are doing the work now so that you look back on your time at EHS and are proud to be a Panther.

The next meeting of the National Honor Society will be Thursday May 4 right after school in room 330F. See Mr. Zucca if you have any questions.

Are you interested in joining the cheerleading squad? There will be an informational meeting for all students interested on Today at 3:30 in the alumni room, located on the second floor of the North Wing. Come get your questions answered about tryouts and learn what to expect for the upcoming season.

Love to sing? Love to dance? Think you have what it takes to be the next Beyonce or Chris Brown? Audition for the award-winning show choir Varsity Chorale! Auditions start tomorrow, Tuesday, and go through Thursday. Because of the in-service day on Tuesday, we will have a combined rehearsal on Tuesday from 3 pm-4:30 pm. Someone will be at door 13 to greet you and direct you to the choir room. Weds and Thurs auditions will be held from 2:30-3:30 but feel free to stay later if you want extra help.

Student of the Week:  Congratulations to 12th grader Justin Wright.  According to his teachers, Justin is always 100% engaged, he cares about his schoolwork and grades, and he always participates in class. He is always willing to help his classmates as well.  Teachers also say he is a compassionate, strong and strong young man with so much ambition.  We are so proud of you Justin!  Congratulations!

Staff member of the Week:  Congratulations to Staff Member of the week Mr. Selvaggio! Students nominated him because he is nice and helpful as the Criminal Justice CTE instructor. He is a department chair leader, school liaison to the Kids in Need program, organized the USASkills competition, organized our Halloween parade for elementary students, and so much more. Congratulations Mr. Selvaggio!

Bring out the best in you by pressing pause, getting your mind right, and cutting BCD out of your life, and have a great day at The Euclid High School.
