10/17/16 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Monday, October 17th.
  • Congratulations to JROTC who competed in a local drill competition this weekend and walked away with 4 well earned Team trophies and one Individual Medal. Awards include:  2nd place Unarmed Platoon, 2nd place 1st year Squad, 3rd place Armed Platoon, 3rd place Personnel Inspection, Cadet Joann Felix, 3rd place Knock Out Medal.  Cadets, Commander and Sergeant Major are very proud of your accomplishments! Hard work and dedication does pay off! Truly a job well done!
  • Attention Sophomores! Applications for the Career Tech programs will be open on November 1st.  Come to Room 232 for details.  
  • Attention 8th graders participating in the Yankee Candle fundraiser. Please return completed fundraiser packets to your History teacher this week.
  • Mr. Nosse in the boy’s gym has paperwork all baseball players must complete for a mandatory fundraiser we are doing as a team.
Meetings This Week:
  • The first contest for the Ohio Math League will be Tuesday October 18 during IE and after school in room 342.  The Ohio Math League is open to all students who enjoy and are good in math.  See Mr. Zucca if you have any questions.
  • Attention all Student Council members! The mandatory Blood Drive meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 19 at 2:30 p.m. in Room 296. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Pollack or Mrs. Latessa.
  • The Senior Class Cabinet will meet on Thursday, October 20, at 2:30 p.m. in Room 296. We will be finalizing our shirts and begin prom planning. Please see Mrs. Latessa in Room 296 if you have any questions.
  • Attention SAVE Environmental Club. We will meet this Thursday, 10/20 at 2:30 in room 391. We will have permission slips and confirm details for our November 3rd Green Creek stewardship day. See Mr. Young or Mrs. Spivey if you have any questions.
  • A reminder to all Marching Band and Orchestra Members:  The Pasta Dinner and Indoor Marching Band Concert will take place on Wed. Oct. 26.
  • OGT tutoring will be offered until Fri, Oct. 21st.  Math tutoring will be offered 6th period M-F and Tues/Thurs 2:30-3:15pm & Fridays 2:00-3:00pm in Rm. 297 with Ms. Costello.  Social Studies & Science will be offered Tues, Wed & Fri 2:30-4:00pm in the E-Room with Ms. Scott.
  • How will you score on the ACT or SAT?  Find out by taking a full-length practice test given under the same testing conditions as the actual exam.  You’ll learn about the endurance and skill needed to score high on the ACT or SAT and you’ll get a personalized score report that shows your strengths and weaknesses.  The practice SAT will be on Saturday, November 12th from 10-2 and the ACT on Saturday, November 19th from 10-2. Deadlines for each are the Monday before the test.  Please see Miss Hunt, the 11th grade counselor, in room 324 to sign up.  This is open to all students grades 9-12

  • Attention Art Club Members! There will be NO meeting today. We are postponing our meeting until NEXT THURSDAY after school. We will be getting ready for Halloween. New members are encouraged to join. 8th graders welcome! See you next Thursday!

  • Attention Students:  Please plan on attending our Key Club meeting today at 2:45 in room 223.  The $11 Early Bird dues are still being collected and field trip forms will be passed out for those of you interested in going to the Fall Rally.  We will also be decorating our display case immediately following our meeting.  Please see Mrs. Rosati-Kujay in room 223 if you have any questions.

  • Girls Basketball Conditioning and open gyms will start Monday October 17th at the high school.  After 7th period or IE please report immediately to the E-Room.  Conditioning and open gym will be Monday through Friday next week from 2:40 to 5.  Paper work and Try-Out information will be given out.

  • Attention Student Council members! Today's mandatory meeting has been cancelled!  Our mandatory meeting with our blood drive rep has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 19.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Latessa or Mrs. Pollack.
  • Anyone interested in joining the swim team this year should report to the little theater today at 2:00 PM for an informational meeting.  If anyone has any questions before that they can come to the athletics office to see Ms. Butler.
  • Attention 8th grade volleyball players: team pictures are today at 2:45 in the stadium.  You will return your uniform right after pictures.  Be sure to wear your whole uniform, including your socks.

  • Tonight is the senior night celebration for the Panther volleyball team. The seniors will be recognized at the conclusion of the junior varsity game at approximately 6:30 PM.  Come pack the stands and cheer on the Panther’s volleyball team.

  • Attention all 8th graders: The dance for tonight has been cancelled. Anyone who purchased tickets will be refunded today. Again, tonight's dance has been cancelled. Thank you!
  • Attention all 8th graders interested in going on the Washington D.C. trip this year. A reminder that your contract is due to your History Teacher by Thursday October 13th.
  • Euclid Public Library firmly believes that it is never too early to begin planning for your future. On Fridays, they welcome college recruiters and admissions coordinators in the teen area to provide guidance and information about pursuing your education after high school. This Friday, October 7th, the library welcomes Cuyahoga Community College to speak with students.  See Mr. Ray in the teen section if you’re interested.

  • Attention all 10th and 11th graders. Mrs. Hardaway & Ms. Flowers are looking for mentors for our lovely 8th graders. Before you say no... think back for a moment, just 2 or 3 years ago. Surely you remember what is was like your first year in high school... RECKLESS! Clearly someone had to help you "Get in Formation".  I'm sure if you knew then what you know now, you would have made better choices.  If you consistently Practice responsibility, Respect others, Ignore negativity, Develop your strengths and Excel in academics, the Panther PRIDE 8th Grade Mentoring Program may interest you.  This program is sponsored by Mrs. Hardaway & Ms. Flowers and is open to 10th and 11th graders with footsteps worth following.  Only those committed to practicing the principles of PRIDE may apply.  Stop by the 8th grade unit office for an application.  Hurry, only 20 mentors will be chosen.

  • Seniors!  It's not too late to join the Senior Class Cabinet!  We have a meeting today at 2:30 pm in Room 296.  We will be discussing senior shirts, fundraisers, and prom ideas.  See Mrs. Latessa in Room 296 with questions.
  • Attention SAVE Environmental Club.  We will meet today in the planetarium from 2:30 to 3:30.  We will have guest speakers who will talk about our involvement with the Green Creek project and the November Stewardship Day.  Please don't be late!  If you have any questions please see Mr. Young or Mrs. Spivey.
  • Attention Students: Please plan on coming to our Key Club meeting today at 2:45 in room 223. We will be discussing the Fall Rally and Halloween Trick or Treating coming up this month.  Please bring your $11 dues so that you can earn your hours!  
  • There will be a Stand-Up meeting today at 2:45pm in room 263.  If you plan on helping with the literature drop on Saturday, please make sure that you attend this meeting.  If you have any questions please see Mrs. K, Mrs. Salinas, or Ms. Russo.

  • Great job to the 8th grade Euclid Blue volleyball team for their match last night. Great serving by Christina Sataritas, Lori Way, and Cassandra Johnson, incredible digs by Ariel Thompson, Emily Wright, and G G Tungmirou, and amazing net play by Katie Stephens and Trenyce Wells. These girls have played a competitive season. Wish them luck as they travel to a tournament Saturday!

  • Attention all 8th graders!  Tickets for the Glow-in-the-Dark dance are on sale in the E-room at the treasurer’s window before school and at 2:00.  The ticket price is $3. The dance will be Friday, October 7 from 6:30-9:00 PM in the E Room.  Pizza, Pop, and snacks will also be sold during the dance.  The dance is for 8th graders only and you must have an ID to purchase a ticket for the dance.  No tickets will be sold at the door.  Any student who has been suspended this quarter will not be permitted to attend this fall dance.

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Tuesday, October 4th  IE today is 5th period. 
  • Calling all writers, photographers, designers and cartoonists!  The Survey, EHS' student newspaper, will begin holding meetings today at 3:30 in room 298.  Come see what the club is all about and bring a friend!  All students, 8th through 12th grade are invited to join.  See you there!
  • The first meeting of the National Honor Society will be today at 2:30 in room 342.  See Mr. Zucca if you have any questions.
  • The Academic Challenge Club will meet today at 2:30 in Room 337.  Anyone interested in competing on the team or being on the Academic Challenge TV show should attend.Attention Student Council members!   • Attention Youth Opportunities Unlimited JOG members.  Please meet in Ms. Robinson’s office, room 345, for the meeting today after school.
  • Attention all 8th graders! Tickets for the glow in the dark dance will go on sale tomorrow at 2:00 in the e room. Go to the treasurer’s window for tickets. Tickets are $3 and will only be sold before school and at 2:00 in the e room. The dance will be Friday, October 7 from 6:30-9:00 PM in the E Room. Pizza, Pop, and snacks will also be sold during the dance. Pizza and candy will cost $1, and pop and chips will be 50 cents. The dance is for 8th graders only. Students who have been suspended during 1st quarter will not be permitted to attend. See Mrs. Anderson in the choir room after 5th period with any questions!
  • Seniors! It's not too late to join the Senior Class Cabinet!  We have a meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 6 at 2:30 pm in Room 296.  We will be discussing senior shirts, fundraisers, and prom ideas.  See Mrs. Latessa in Room 296 with questions.
  • Attention SAVE Environmental Club. We will meet this Thursday, October 6th in the planetarium from 2:30 to 3:30. We will have guest speakers who will talk about our involvement with the Green Creek project and the November Stewardship Day.  Please don't be late!  If you have any questions please see Mr. Young or Mrs. Spivey.
  • Attention Students: Please plan on coming to our next Key Club meeting on Thursday October 6th at 2:45 in room 223. We will be discussing the Fall Rally and Halloween Trick or Treating coming up this month. Please bring your dues which are $11 so that you can earn your hours! See you Thursday!
  • There will be a Stand-Up meeting on Thursday October 6th at 2:45pm.  We will meet in room 263.  If you plan on helping with the literature drop on Saturday, please make sure that you attend this meeting.  If you have any questions please see Mrs. K, Mrs. Salinas, or Ms. Russo.
  • To all Juniors and Seniors we have more colleges and a trade school coming to Euclid High School this week:  Tuesday – the University of Akron and Baldwin Wallace University;  Thursday Ohio Technical College (specializing in Welding & Auto/Diesel Mechanics) & Notre Dame College;  and Friday will be Lake Erie College.  OGT tutoring will be offered until Fri, Oct. 21st.  Math tutoring will be offered 6th period M-F and Tues/Thurs 2:30-3:15pm & Fridays 2:00-3:00pm in Rm. 297 with Ms. Costello.  Social Studies & Science will be offered Tues, Wed & Fri 2:30-4:00pm in the E-Rm with Ms. Scott.

Please see College Now in Room 147 for more information about filling out your FAFSA.  If you are a senior with a 2.5 GPA or above, you are invited to a College Now field trip to Baldwin-Wallace University.  Please see College Now in Room 147 for a permission slip.
