Morning Announcements - October 21, 2022

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Friday, October 21st 2022.

Attention Student Council! There WILL be a meeting on Tuesday, October 23. We look forward to seeing you there!

Calling all boys interested in spring volleyball!!  There will be an informational meeting on Monday, October 24th, at 3:00 PM in the Little Theater.  Winter sports athletes are encouraged to come to the meeting to sign up and get information about the spring season.

Attention swimmers. There will be an informational meeting on Monday October 31st at 3:00 in the Little Theater for anyone interested in joining the swim team. You will be required to have your medical clearance in Final Forms before you can begin swimming. You must also be academically eligible to join a winter sport. The first day of practice is Tuesday November 1st. You must have an appropriate practice suit and goggles before you can enter the water. Practices runs 3-5 Monday through Friday. If you have any questions please contact Coach Ingram through the athletic department.

Attendance - Remember Our goal for the month of October is 90% attendance. Right now we as a school we are 86.69% Get here, get your friends here and be responsible, respectful and engaged here at Euclid High School!

Morning Announcements - October 20, 2022

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Thursday, October 20th 2022.

Getting to class on time is critical to your success as a EHS student. Presently we have too many students who are missing critical instruction and will fall behind academically in the progress towards graduation. We have three quarters left to get our minds right to do the work necessary to acquire the credits to graduate.

"Locotubre, Battle of the decades" continues today with a power house head to head battle between Selena's "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" and Shakira's "Estoy AquĆ­".  Stop by pod 350 to scan the QR codes to listen to the songs and vote for your favorite.  On Monday "Chiquitita" by Abba narrowly defeated Celia Cruz's "Guantanamera" by a less than .3% of the total votes.  Every vote counts!

Congratulations to the 26 students that have PERFECT attendance for the 1st quarter!  No tardies to class, no tardies to school, no cuts, no absences, no exit passes, NOTHING!  Not only are these students getting a certificate, but are getting prizes as well!

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Tuesday, October 18th 2022.

Young males, would you like to be in leadership or learn some life skills? The African American Achievement Male Group, Prince 2 King, is held every Tuesday at 2:45pm -3:45 pm, snacks will be provided.. Please see Mr York in the hallways passing by.

The Student vs. Staff Flag Football Game will be held TODAY!  The event will be held in the gym.  We will operate on a PM Assembly bell schedule.  You will be sitting with your cohort for this event, exactly like the pep rally.  Make sure to stay in your 7th period class and we will call you down by teacher.

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Monday, October 17th 2022.

Young males, would you like to be in leadership or learn some life skills? The African American Achievement Male Group, Prince 2 King, is held every Tuesday at 2:45pm -3:45 pm, snacks will be provided.. Please see Mr York in the hallways passing by.

Today is the first day of the 2nd quarter!  Students, please understand that you CANNOT move to the next grade level unless you pass your classes!  So, those of you that are cutting class, or failing classes, or not coming to school on a regular basis, you may fail your class and not move to the next grade!  You must have 4.0 credits to be a sophomore, 8.5 credits to be a junior, 13 credits to be a senior.  Please make sure to go to class everyday, do your best, and focus on your academics!

Morning Announcements - October 13, 2022

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Thursday, October 12th 2022.

Hispanic Heritage Month. - People of Mexican origin accounted for nearly 60% (or about 37.2 million people) of the nation’s overall Hispanic population as of 2021. Those of Puerto Rican origin are the next largest group, at 5.8 million (another roughly 3.1 million Puerto Ricans live on the island as of 2021). Their numbers have been growing partly due to people leaving Puerto Ricoand moving to the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Six other Hispanic origin groups in the U.S. have 1 million or more people each: Salvadorans, Cubans, Dominicans, Guatemalans, Colombians and Hondurans. In addition, by 2021, Spaniards accounted for just about 1 million U.S. Latinos.

Thank-you to staff and students for all your efforts with the PSAT/NMSQT. There are so many to thank: custodial staff getting the mandated clocks, getting tables, moving furniture and cleaning; food service staff preparing grab & go breakfasts; teachers that proctored and monitored testing; teachers that did not proctor or monitor testing; gym and health class students and teachers that were displaced; Mr. McGuire and Ms. Reid monitoring displaced students; Ms. Owens providing coverages; our security staff; our secretaries; our administration staff; and especially our students who either tested or did not test, but worked through the school day with an event that had a major impact to the daily routine! Way to go Euclid Panthers!

A PBIS Announcement for All Students!  If you are referral free for the first quarter, you will receive prizes within the next few weeks!  Thank you for making good choices everyday by being respectful, responsible and engaged!  For those of you who have a referral in the 1st quarter, don’t be discouraged!  You will have another chance during the 2nd quarter!  Each quarter we will celebrate students with NO REFERRALS!  Also, if you are referral free for the YEAR, you will be entered into a drawing for BIG prizes at the end of the year assembly.

Sophomores, Class of 2025! (and some juniors)! TOMORROW, Wednesday, October 12, you will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT in the North Wing. HAVE YOU CHECKED THE LIST IN THE CAFETERIA FOR YOUR TESTING LOCATION? Tomorrow - Report to Athletic entrance by 7:15 AM. Tomorrow - Wear your ID’s! Check in for attendance, ID’s and double check your testing room assignment. Grab and go breakfast. Proceed to your testing room. Proctors will recheck attendance and assign you a seat. Tomorrow - No electronic devices during testing, even breaks. Tomorrow - Most of you will be dismissed at the end of 4th period. Follow your regular schedule for the rest of the day. If you had fourth period lunch, you will have lunch 5th period. Get some good rest tonight. Students, if you are in a class with sophomores, and you are NOT testing, AND your teacher is proctoring the PSAT/NMSOT, REPORT TO THE LITTLE THEATER for that class period. One more time - if you are in a sophomore class, and you are not testing, go to the Little Theater for that period.

On test day, Wednesday October 12, just like any other day, you will need your ID’s! Report to the Athletic Entrance, door 5, at 7:15 AM. Check in for attendance, ID’s and double check your testing room assignment. You can pick up a grab and go breakfast, and then proceed to your testing room. The test itself is about three hours and is a paper and pencil test. It is reading, writing & language, and math, most questions are multiple choice, and there are no extended responses. There is no penalty for guessing or blank responses. No electronic devices are permitted during testing. Start checking your school email for reminders!

Attention all students!  If you plan to attend the Homecoming dance this Saturday, October 8, Homecoming tickets are on sale for TWO MORE DAYS! To buy a ticket you need a SIGNED dance contract and your ID. Thursday will be the FINAL day for ticket sales!

Homecoming is almost here, so let's crown our Nobility and Royalty! Voting for Homecoming Court will begin TODAY! Voting will end WEDNESDAY! Look around the school for the QR code that will take you to the ballot! Winners will be announced during the halftime show at Friday's football game.

Black Freshmen. 2026

Attention swimmers. There will be an informational meeting on Monday October 31st at 3:00 in the Little Theater for anyone interested in joining the swim team. You will be required to have your medical clearance in Final Forms before you can begin swimming. You must also be academically eligible to join a winter sport. The first day of practice is Tuesday November 1st. You must have an appropriate practice suit and goggles before you can enter the water. Practices runs 3-5 Monday through Friday. If you have any questions please contact Coach Ingram through the athletic department.

Thursday, October 6th, Boys Soccer has an away game at John Marshall. The game begins at 5:00

On Friday the Football team takes on Strongsville here at home. Game starts at 7:00.
