Morning Announcements - November 15, 2022

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Tuesday, November 15th,  2022. These are your morning announcements.

The next contest of the Ohio Math League will be today, Tuesday, November 15, right after school in room 330F. All are welcome to participate. See Mr. Zucca if you have any questions.

Fall State Testing: Students who need to test got an email and also an Infinite Campus message. Check your school emails and Infinite Campus. You can see the tests you need to take at the bottom of your schedule in Infinite Campus, in the Activities section. Review material is available to all students who are testing in Edgenuity. Open the Edgenuity app in Clever on your chromebook. The name of the review starts with “EOC”.  We are still working on schedule details, but in general, for government, history or English, you will be testing Tuesday November 29  through Friday December 2, for biology, geometry or algebra, you will be testing Monday December 5 through Friday December 9. Keep an eye on your email and Infinite Campus messages for scheduling details.

All-star Panther readers who are going to Arbor, please turn in your permission slip to room 240A.

The next contest of the Ohio Math League will be tomorrow, Tuesday November 15, right after school in room 330F. All are welcome to participate. See Mr. Zucca if you have any questions.

Students and staff: retakes for the Ohio State tests will take place from November 29 to December 19. Seniors, check your emails! Emails were sent last night to seniors who need to test. Juniors and sophomores will be getting their notifications today. Details for specific testing days and locations will be ready next week. Seniors, if you need to test, don't put it off. If you don't test now, you won't walk.y!

Voluntary workouts for Girls and Boys Indoor Track will start today, Monday, Nov 14th.  You must have your Final Forms Account finished and have a current Physical.  The 1st official day for Indoor Track is Monday Nov 28th.  Any questions see email Coach Nosse or Coach Gasper.

PBIS Announcement:  Only the Staff Member of the Week is permitted to park in the PBIS parking spot closest to door #1.  Unless you hold that title, please do not park in that spot!  Thank you!!

Morning Announcements - November 11, 2022

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Veterans Day Friday, November 11th,  2022. These are your morning announcements.

Veterans Day is a U.S. holiday dedicated to American veterans of all wars. In 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in World War I, at that time known as “the Great War.”

Commemorated in many countries as Armistice Day the following year, November 11th became a federal holiday in the United States in 1938. In the aftermath of World War II and the Korean War, Armistice Day became known as Veterans Day which we all celebrate today. At Euclid High School we are fortunate to have veterans walking the halls with us every day, please join me in a round of applause for those who served in our armed services. Thank you for your servic.

This week we discussed the difference between living above or below the line. Living a life of discipline instead of a life on default. Remember that discipline means the relentless pursuit of the best version of you; it is an internal locus of control and not an external punishment. We display discipline when we follow directions, complete our assignments, study for tests and quizzes, and do what’s right because it’s what needs to be done. It is far easier to live a life on default, but the rewards will be fewer, with less personal control and less potential for positive outcomes. The best version of you is discipline driven. When you operate with discipline, you work smarter, make a team with others better, learn faster, communicate more clearly, and are more resilient.

Seniors! Are you interested in planning prom? Senior Class Cabinet will start meeting twice a month TODAY after school in H322. Please see Ms. Hunt or Mrs. Walling if you have questions.

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Thursday, November 10th,  2022. These are your morning announcements.

Discipline means the relentless pursuit of the best version of you
Be better today than you were yesterday, and be better tomorrow than you are today.

Default is the absence of discipline.
Impulse is undisciplined emotion.
Autopilot is undisciplined habit.
Resistance is the unwillingness to do the work of getting better.

And that means when you operate with discipline, you give yourself more options and control.
But when you operate on default, you give yourself fewer options and have less control.
When you operate on default, you give control away to external circumstances, other people, and the randomness of life.

Every day is a battle for what directs your life
Intention versus Impulse
On-purpose versus On-autopilot
Skillful versus Resistant
Discipline versus Default
Choose Discipline

Discipline = training, and people committed to managing the responses to the events they face, live a life of discipline over default.

The powers that be have extended the final "Locotubre" vote through the end of today! You can scan the QR codes from any pod monitor to listen to the two finalist and cast your vote!  Which song should take the "Battle of the Decades" title?  The Gipsy King's "Bamboleo" or Ricky Martin's "La Copa de la Vida". Vote today!

The "Locotubre" final face off is here! Over the last month thousands of people have voted around the world to bring us this Championship round. Will it be "Bamboleo" or "Copa de la Vida" that takes it all? Cast your vote today in Pod 350.

After school weight lifting will begin today at 3:30.

Tomorrow, November 8th, is a district inservice day. Teachers will be present working on professional development activities. Students do not report to school tomorrow.

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Friday, November 4th,  2022.

The R Factor Mindset - Your R is an E for others. Consistently managing your R will, over time, result in better outcomes for you and those around you. You cannot control the responses of others, you cannot control the events of any day, you do not determine the outcomes that result from your responses.

Voting for the second semi-final round of "Locotubre" ends today. Join in with 700 schools from 8 different countries to cast your vote. Who should make it to the final round "Copa de Vida" by Ricky Martin or "A dios le pido" by Juanes?

Attention those interested in joining the Famous Pantherettes, auditions are today, November 4th at 4pm in the East gym.

Attention all students - there will be an informational meeting regarding our BOWLING team today, Friday, November 4 at 3:05 in the Little Theater.  Be there if you want to bowl for EHS!!

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Thursday, November 3rd,  2022.

The R Factor - Your R is an E for others. We are constantly responding to the events we are experiencing in life and in school. Consider when you are having a conversation with someone. That is an event. During the conversation your are responding to potentially hundreds of mini events. Someone may say something to you that upsets you. You have to choose your response in a way that fits the outcomes you want. When you got into the conversation to start did you think it could result into a bad feelings, aggressiveness, a fight or worse?

The first semi-final round of "Locotubbre" is here!.  Will it be the sick guitar licks of Carlos Santana or the many mulleted Gipsy Kings that move on to the final?  Be one of the 35,000 participants and vote today in pod 350 for "Oye Como va" or "Bamboleo"

The Junior Ambassador meeting will be Today, Thursday, November 3, at 2:30 pm in Room 322.,

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Wednesday, November 2nd  2022.

The R Factor - Remember, E+R=O means Event + Response = Outcomes. Know this. You have the power to influence situations and circumstances, but you do not control them. There will always be things outside of your control that you will have to deal with both good and bad. Tomorrow’s events are created by today’s outcomes; if you want better events in the future, you must start producing better outcomes today. To get great outcomes you need to have great responses.

The results for the first Ohio Math League Contest are in. Congratulations to William Jones for edging out Toni Kincaid by one point to finish in first place. Joy Byous was third. Kameron Johnson and Talasi Robinson tied for fourth. The next contest will be November 15. See Mr. Zucca if you have any questions.

Halloween: Today is Halloween. I hope everyone is in a festive mood. Though we can have fun, remember that this is an academic environment where we are here to engage in the learning process.
