  • Black History fact for today, February 13: On this day in 1923, the first black Pro basketball team was formed. The New York Renaissance later became known as the New York Rens went on to win the World Championship of Basketball Title in 1939. On this day in 1970, the New York Stock Exchange admitted its first black member, Mr. Joseph Searles.
