02/25/19 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Have Integrity. Today is Monday, February 25th.
  • National Junior Honor Society Members, please check your Google Classroom for important updates regarding National Junior Honor Society. Please respond to the two questions so that we can get accurate counts and information. Thank you!
  • Black History fact for today, February 25: On this day in 1870, Hiram Rhodes Revels was sworn in as the first black U.S. Senator and first black Representative in Congress. On this day in 1948, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King was ordained as a Baptist minister at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. On this day in 1971, then President Richard Nixon met with members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) and appointed a White House panel to study a list of recommendations made by the group. Established that same year, the Congressional Black Caucus was and continues to be committed to using the full Constitutional power, statutory authority, and financial resources of the federal government to ensure that African Americans and other marginalized communities in the United States have the opportunity to achieve the American Dream.
  • Congratulations to Mrs. Walsh-Hilf's High Membean Achievers who went above and beyond their 45 minutes this past week. Keep up the good work India Wilkerson, Rakaya Hodges, Evin Harris, Aniyah Cephus, Donaijah Kane, Sadye Penny and Izac Shields. Keep up the good work building your vocabulary to increase your reading comprehension.
  • Attention all students interested in auditioning for the 2019-20 Marching Band Dance Team or Drum Major, there will be a mandatory kick off meeting this evening at 6pm in the band room. Practices will run from Tuesday, February 26 through Tuesday, March 6 in the upper level of the Boys Gym from 4-7pm. Auditions are on Wednesday March 7 after school.
  • Sophomore students who have applied to a Lake Shore Compact Career Tech Program: Acceptance letters are ready! Please stop by room 324 today to find out if you have been accepted into a CTE Program. If accepted, you will have until March 1st to return your Accept/Decline Declaration Form to the CTE Office in room 324.
  • Chinese Club members! There will be Chinese Club meeting today! Please come after school to room 226, to join the Chinese Club meeting! The Chinese Club today will discuss the Chinese New Year this Thursday! Come to Chinese Club meeting today!
  • All Boys interested in running outdoor track are asked to attend a mandatory meeting on Tuesday February 26th in Room 323 at 2:20. If you are not able to attend this meeting please see Coach Gibbons in room 323. Thanks
  • If you are interested in taking CCP classes at Euclid High School next year, please see your counselor. You will need to take the ACCUPLACER, which is a placement test. We are offering the ACCUPLACER on February 27th. Be sure to see your counselor by the end of the week if you are interested!
  • The Chinese New Year is this Thursday, February 28 and we will be having a celebration here at Euclid High School from 6pm to 8pm. It's completely free for Euclid school students and families. See performances, do activities, and enjoy an authentic Chinese dinner! Again, the celebration is free for Euclid students and families! Register in Room 226 with Ms. Wang, the Chinese teacher.
  • Seniors! The Local Money Scholarship application has been released! If you are college-bound, you don't want to miss this opportunity. All scholarship money is given to Euclid High School seniors, so your chance of being a recipient is very good. The applications have been sent via email and they are posted on Naviance. You can also stop by Mrs. Walling's office to pick up a copy of the application. Applications are due no later than March 19th.
  • Any 8th grade boy or girl interested in track and field please sign-up in Mrs.Bowers-Craig’s classroom (room 103).
