04/19/17 Announcements

  • Good morning Euclid High School, where we are standing up with Panther PRIDE.  Today is Wednesday, April 19th, 2017.
  • IE today is for 3rd period.
  • Congratulations to Euclid High School Senior Tahja Santiago who has earned national recognition in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for 2017.  Tahja has been identified by a panel of creative professionals as one of the most talented young artists and writers in the nation.  This year more than 330,000 works of art and writing were submitted by students in grades 7-12 and less than 1% were recognized at the national level.  Tahja’s winning photomontage titled “Nobody’s Perfect” received a Gold Medal placing her within the top 1% of all submissions.  Her work will be on display in New York City where she has been invited to attend a ceremony at the world-famous Carnegie Hall.  Again, congratulations Tahja!
  • Congratulations to the winners of the 8th Grade Poetry Extravaganza! The winners on team Jaguar are: 1st place Nia Badley, 2nd place Chequonn Carter, and 3rd place Marcellus Ingram. The winners on team Cougar are: 1st place Shaheim Rose, 2nd place Zion Ross, and 3rd place Nakia Lett. The winners on team Leopard are: 1st place Jason Fisher, 2nd place Marnay Stewart, 3rd place Ronasia Wiley. The grand price winner is Akayla Middlebrooks. Students, please come to Ms. Henry's classroom (room 128) to collect your prize. Thank you to all teachers and students who participated in the Poetry Extravaganza voting!
Meetings:
  • Reminder! The College Now Cleveland State University field trip is today! Please meet in Room 147 at 11:15am.
  • Attention Key Club Members: Please join us for our final meeting of the year on Thursday April 20th in room 223 at 2:45. We will be discussing our end of the year dinner and discussing any unfinished business. We will see you Thursday!
  • Attention all students interested in auditioning for the Varsity Chorale Show Choir. The rehearsals for auditions are on Thursday, April 20th from 2:30-3:00pm and Monday, April 24 from 2:00-2:30pm in the choir room. Please plan to attend these rehearsals so Mrs. Ross and Mr. Thorndike can teach you the audition song.  Auditions for VC will be held on Wednesday, April 26th and Thursday, April 27th from 2:30-6:00pm in the choir room. If you are interested in auditioning but did not attend last week's meeting, please stop down in the choir room and see Mrs. Ross or Mr. Thorndike for information. We look forward to having a great audition for next year's group!
  • Euclid High School’s Concert Band & Orchestra will present their annual Spring Concert Thur. April 20 at 7:00pm in the high school Auditorium. The concert will include the band performing Digital Prisms and Hope Springs Eternal with the orchestra ‘s performance of A Tribute to Michael Jackson and Palladio. The orchestra Concert will be presented 1st period and the band concert 7th period the day of the concert on Thur. April 20. All 1st and 7th period classes are welcome! A reminder to all band members that dress rehearsal tonight is cancelled! If you are attending the Field Trip to Severance Hall, please report to the band room at 6pm this evening.
  • The National Honor Society is going Downtown this Saturday for the MS Walk-a-thon. Please turn in your permission slip to Mr. Zucca.
Seniors:
  • Dave and Buster’s permission slips are now available in library and the 12th grade unit office.  Please bring your completed permission slip and $35 cash or money order to Mrs. Latessa in Room 296.  Permission slips and money are due no later than Friday, April 28.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Latessa in Room 296.
  • Prom Contracts are now available in the library and the 12th grade unit office.  Each Euclid Senior must complete their own contract (left side) and submit it to the 12th grade unit office for signatures.  Seniors bringing EHS underclassmen or a date from another school must complete the right side of their contract before submitting it to the 12th grade unit office for signatures.  Remember, you must have your emergency medical form on file, all fees (including library fines) paid in full, and be in good disciplinary standing.  
  • All prom tickets must be purchased from the treasurer, located in the E-Room.  Catch Early Bird prom tickets on sale April 24 through April 28 for only $90 per person.  The price includes admission to prom and after prom.  
  • Beginning May 1 through May 5, prom tickets will return to the regular price of $100 per person.  Prom tickets will NOT be sold after May 5.  Please see Mrs. Latessa with any prom related questions.
