Morning Announcements - April 13, 2023

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Thursday, April 13,  2023 and these are your morning announcements.

THE R-FACTOR - Adapt and Adjust, The next few weeks we will be going through State Testing.

Attention all students and staff: Just a reminder that make-ups for the State ELA test begin tomorrow. Please be prepared, plan accordingly, and make sure your Chromebook is charged.

SAVE Environmental Club, will have a special guest speaker, Roy Larick, from Euclid Shade Commission.  Mr Larick will speak to us about the historic oak stand that is Memorial Park. He will also help us select a spot for the 2 new Oak trees we will plant at Memorial on April 20th. Also, come out and help the SAVE club clean up Euclid on Earth Day, April 22nd at 9:00 am at VASJ. Stop by Ms. Spivey room 230E if you have questions.  Happy Spring!

Staff and Students April 14th is a Day of (NO) Silence  sponsored by our GSA Club. Day of (No) Silence is an opportunity for students to. raise awareness of the discrimination they may feel within the LGBTQ  school community. We will have a banner in the cafeteria to sign if you pledge your support of this initiative.

Seniors! It's that time!! If you are interested in running for Prom Royalty, now is it! Applicants MUST have 12th grade status and a 2.5 CUMULATIVE GPA. You must also complete the essay portion detailing why you are a superior candidate for Euclid's Prom Royalty 2023. Please include your participation in extracurriculars, sports, and volunteer programs, leadership opportunities, and anything else that highlights your accomplishments. The application will close on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2:30pm. Selected candidates will be notified by school email on Monday, April 24, 2023. Voting for Prom Royalty will take place at Prom and the winners will be announced at the dance. If you have any questions, please see or email Ms. Hunt or Mrs. Walling.

Seniors! Both prom and Cedar Point trip tickets are on sale NOW. Prom contracts are available in the main and 12th grade offices and MUST be completed and signed by Ms. O in order to purchase your ticket. Tickets can be purchased with Mrs. Mowery, the treasurer. Her window is located off the cafeteria behind the staircase. Cedar Point permission forms are located outside of Ms. Hunt's office and must be signed by a parent, regardless of age, to purchase a ticket. Please see your email for ticket purchase dates and times. Email Ms. Hunt with any questions. Prom tickets are $125, After Prom only tickets are $40 and Cedar Point tickets are $60. The last day to buy prom tickets is TOMORROW, Friday, April 14th and the last day for Cedar Point tickets is Monday, April 17th.

Attention staff: The plant sale fundraiser will end April 14th. Flyers were in all mailboxes. Proceeds benefit student leadership and support groups here at Euclid High School. Csh or check payable must accompany orders. Give to Ms. Smith in the clinic or Ms Russo in Room H-115.. Thank you for supporting our students!

Sophomores! We are proud to announce that starting this fall, we will be offering a new Career Tech program called Music Production & Engineering! If you are interested in music & video production, concepts, theory, choreography, composition & ensemble and more, check your Euclid email for application information! These applications are due by Friday, April 21st. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Hunt in the Counseling Office or email her at khunt@euclidschools.org.

Attention Euclid High School! Please save the date for the award winning Panther Marching Band Battle of the Band Competition on April 22nd, from 2pm-6pm at the Doc Daughtery Gymnasium. Tickets are $15 at the door. There will be multiple high school marching bands participating in the competition, a 50/50 raffle, and will feature the best band in the land, the grand champions, Euclid Panther Marching Band! For more information on the event, reach out to Dr. Strothers or Mr. Howard.

Students!  As we start to move into the spring season, please remember our Euclid high school dress code:  shorts and skirts must be fingertip length, your stomach should NOT be showing, no sunglasses, no shirts with sleeves less than 3 fingertip in width, and no clothing with inappropriate language, pictures, or suggestive references.  You will be sent to the principal’s office if you violate these rules.
