Morning Announcements - April 17, 2023

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Monday, April 17, 2023 and these are your morning announcements.

R-FACTOR - Build your Skill, where are you with your R Factor Skill? What are you using to get the outcomes you want. Remember outcomes are the results of our responses to the events we face. The quality of our response will determine the quality of our outcome. You have to practice being disciplined with your response just like practicing in the weight room, on the field or in the classroom to improve academically or athletically.

Good morning students! Can you be a student leader? Do you think you can help plan school events? Are you a positive role model for others? If so, Student Council wants you! There are a few requirements, such as - clean referral record - 2.0 cumulative GPA minimum - teacher recommendations. If you would like the opportunity to be part of Student Council, please pick up an application from Mrs. P and Mrs. K in room 140C. Applications will be due MAY 12!

On Friday April 21st, we will be hosting a Tri C Program & Career Fair at Euclid High School.  Juniors and Seniors - more information will be coming soon - be sure to check your email for more details.  The event will take place in the East Gym from 9am until 11am.
 
Seniors! It's that time!! If you are interested in running for Prom Royalty, now is it! Applicants MUST have 12th grade status and a 2.5 CUMULATIVE GPA. You must also complete the essay portion detailing why you are a superior candidate for Euclid's Prom Royalty 2023. Please include your participation in extracurriculars, sports, and volunteer programs, leadership opportunities, and anything else that highlights your accomplishments. The application will close on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2:30pm. Selected candidates will be notified by school email on Monday, April 24, 2023. Voting for Prom Royalty will take place at Prom and the winners will be announced at the dance. If you have any questions, please see or email Ms. Hunt or Mrs. Walling.

Seniors! Cedar Point trip tickets are on sale NOW. Cedar Point permission forms are located outside of Ms. Hunt's office and must be signed by a parent, regardless of age, to purchase a ticket. Please see your email for ticket purchase dates and times. Email Ms. Hunt with any questions. Cedar Point tickets are $60. The last day to buy Cedar Point tickets is Monday, April 17th.

Student of the Week: 10th Grader Donavin Devine!  Donavin enters class each day on time and prepared to work. He engages during class by asking and answering questions. Donavin is also helpful, polite, and respectful. He is a pleasure to have in class.
Staff member of the Week:  School Counselor Ms. Hunt!  According to her students, Ms. Hunt is very helpful, gives great advice, encourages students and motivates them to do better.  She is the co-advisor to senior class cabinet and GSA, and is a member of PBIS.  Congratulations Ms. Hunt!

Congratulations to the Euclid Boy's Track Team.  We competed this past Saturday at the GlenOak Second Sole Invitational.  Overall we placed 8th out of 26 really great teams.  Lamonte Hamelin placed first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.04 seconds.  That time is currently 5th in the region.  Chase Smith placed 4th in discus with a throw of 122 feet and 10 inches.  Jordan Edwards placed 7th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.09 seconds.  That time is currently third best in the district. Congratulations team!!  Our next meet will be at Solon this Wednesday.

Sophomores! We are proud to announce that starting this fall, we will be offering a new Career Tech program called Music Production & Engineering! If you are interested in music & video production, concepts, theory, choreography, composition & ensemble and more, check your Euclid email for application information! These applications are due by Friday, April 21st. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Hunt in the Counseling Office or email her at khunt@euclidschools.org.

Attention Euclid High School! Please save the date for the award winning Panther Marching Band Battle of the Band Competition on April 22nd, from 2pm-6pm at the Doc Daughtery Gymnasium. Tickets are $15 at the door. There will be multiple high school marching bands participating in the competition, a 50/50 raffle, and will feature the best band in the land, the grand champions, Euclid Panther Marching Band! For more information on the event, reach out to Dr. Strothers or Mr. Howard.
