Morning Announcements - April 3, 2023

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Monday, April 3,  2023 and these are your morning announcements.

THE R-FACTOR - Pay Attention! What is your mind on? Your thoughts become your actions. Pay attention to your inner response. Create the necessary mindset for responding with discipline to situation you face. Know how to get into a productive emotional state and how to get out of a negative one. A good way to get yourself into a better frame of mind is to control your breathing. Focus on your breaths and you can change your mindset, your attention and you will get your mind right.

Interested in FREE ACT prep?  Sign up for impACT!   The spring impACT! session starts today and goes through May 25th.  Sessions are after school from 2:30 until 5:30.  Participating will not only provide ACT preparation, but also a $200 stipend and the opportunity to go on college tour field trips!  Stop by room H350A to learn more or see Mrs. Gonakis in room H279E.

Students!  As we start to move into the spring season, please remember our Euclid high school dress code:  shorts and skirts must be fingertip length, your stomach should NOT be showing, no sunglasses, no shirts with sleeves less than 3 fingertip in width, and no clothing with inappropriate language, pictures, or suggestive references.  You will be sent to the principal’s office if you violate these rules.

Sophomores! We are proud to announce that starting this fall, we will be offering a new Career Tech program called Music Production & Engineering! If you are interested in music & video production, concepts, theory, choreography, composition & ensemble and more, check your Euclid email for application information! These applications are due by Friday, April 21st. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Hunt in the Counseling Office or email her at khunt@euclidschools.org.

Student of the Week:  9th Grader Victoria Adams. Teachers say that Victoria is a pleasure to have in class. She ALWAYS shows up to class with the right attitude, prepared, engaged, and ready to work hard.  She participates in class, helps students around her, and is just a wonderful young panther.
Staff member of the Week:  Social Studies teacher Mrs. WIthers!  Students say that Mrs. Withers is very kind, understanding, and sweet hearted.  She is the best teacher to ever exist.  Congratulations to you both.  Ms. Costello will be around to give you your prize!

The LEAD Scholars would like to thank Mrs. Walling and the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for inviting us to the "Perfecting Our Pearls" conference this past Saturday in Akron, Oh. We met so many wonderful female leaders including State Congresswoman Emilia Strong Sykes. All of the presenters had so much wisdom to share.  We learned so much and felt a genuine concern for our well being as young ladies in terms of leadership, entrepreneurship, communication, mental health, social media safety and more!  Thank you so much for the love shown, education and experience!

Attention Euclid High School! Please save the date for the award winning Panther Marching Band Battle of the Band Competition on April 22nd, from 2pm-6pm at the Doc Daughtery Gymnasium. There will be multiple high school marching bands participating in the competition, a 50/50 raffle, and will feature the best band in the land, the grand champions, Euclid Panther Marching Band!
