Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Tuesday, February 14, 2023 and these are your morning announcements.

THE R-FACTOR - At this point many of us know the R-Factor Skills and what they can do for us. Here’s a quick recap:
Pressing Pause brings us clarity.
Getting Your Mind Right delivers us the energy to Step Up and take action.
Adjust and Adapt allows us to be flexible to the Events that come our way.
Make a Difference is the positive impact we make on the world around us and
Build Skill is the daily work it takes to master a disciplined response.
When you put your R-Factor skills on display you demonstrate your Strength of Self, which is the best version of you. You respond by Getting involved, doing the right thing and being adaptable. Show your strength of self today!

It is time for our Black History Month fact of the day!
Since presidents day is coming, Did you know that the first African American to run for president of the United States was a woman?
a.    Shirley Chisholm was raised in Brooklyn NY and became the first black woman elected to Congress in 1968
b.    In 1972 she decided to run as a Democratic candidate for president.
c.    During the campaign there were 3 assassination attempts on her life. Thankfully she survived all those attempts
d.    She lost her bid, earning 28 delegates, but her efforts paved the way for future African American female politicians, currently there are 27 African American females in Congress, and the first black female Vice President Kamala Harris
