Morning Announcements - February 28, 2023

Good morning Euclid High School where we are Respectful, Responsible, and Engaged. Today is Tuesday, February 28, 2023 and these are your morning announcements.

It is time for our Black History Month fact of the day
Did you know that African American females attend college at a ratio of 3 to 1 compared to African American males?
a. The first college to recruit African American students was right here in Ohio, that’s right, Oberlin College located on the west side of Cleveland
b. Currently the college with the most black college students enrolled is North Carolina A&T State University, located in Greensboro
c. Greensboro is also the location of the first student sit-ins during the civil rights movement
d. Today there are approximately 13,000 African American students enrolled
e. I hope you have enjoyed Black History Months Facts for 2023! Keep soaking up the facts, remember knowledge is power!

Attention Juniors: Tomorrow is SAT day. Get some rest tonight. Report to school starting at 7:15, door 13.  Have breakfast with your classmates. Remember to charge your Chromebooks, bring your Chromebook and charging cord, wear your ID. If you have not returned your signed consent forms for the "College Planning Options" survey to the main office by the end of the day today, it is not too late. Bring them with you tomorrow and give them to the test proctor when you check into your room for attendance.

The National Honor Society Induction is today. All students who are involved should report to the Little Theatre at the beginning of 6th period. See Mr. Zucca if you have any questions.

Congratulations To Our Cte Programs For Winning In The Skillsusa Regional Competition Held At Maplewood Jvs.  First Place For Customer Service Is Christian Lyon From The Criminal Justice Class. First Place For Job Skills Brayden Beers From Fire Academy.      Second Place For Prepared Speech From Exercise Science, Ryan Beucler. Third Place For Crime Scene Investigation From Criminal Justice, Tatiana Maddox, Jaylee Beasley, Katelyn Skaros.  Wish Them Luck As They Go On To Represent Us At State Competition In Columbus.

Reminder. Girls and Boys Track Practice starts next Monday March 6th in the Outdoor Track Stadium.  Practice will start at 2:40 and end about 5pm.  Any questions see Coach Nosse or Coach Gasper.

Girls and Boys will run in the 2023 Indoor State Championships this Saturday March 4th at 2pm at the Geneva Spire Institute.  Eve Clark qualified in 4 events.  60 Meter Dash, 200 Meter Dash, Also the 4 by 200 and 4 by 400 Meter Relay with 3 other young ladies Mia Douglas, Tamra Houston, Dajanay Bailey.  The Boys qualified in the 4 x 200 Meter Relay Charles Atwell, Rich Buchanon, Teveon Meredith and Jordan Edwards.   Please wish them good luck.

Students!  Do you want to play in the Student vs. Staff Basketball game on March 16th? Scan the QR code on the basketball posters around the school and fill out the form!  You must be referral free for the 3rd quarter to participate.  Tomorrow is the last day to sign up!

Students!  As we start to move into the spring season, please remember our Euclid high school dress code:  shorts and skirts must be fingertip length, your stomach should NOT be showing, no sunglasses, no shirts with sleeves less than 3 fingertip in width, and no clothing with inappropriate language, pictures, or suggestive references.  You will be sent to the principal’s office if you violate these rules.
